"The columns are currently coming out of the ground; you've probably seen some of those poured," project engineer Kevie Remynse told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in early October. If you have driven south of the 215 lately, you have seen them on both sides of the road. They are the first visible pieces of a pedestrian bridge over Green Valley Parkway at Village Walk Drive.
For anyone who walks, bikes, shops or eats in Green Valley, the bridge is the part of the 215 project that changes the most day to day. The District at Green Valley Ranch is two halves split by a busy parkway. The bridge is meant to join them, and the schedule for building it means this fall and holiday season is the last full one before the parkway goes through a harder stretch in spring 2027.
A shopping center split down the middle
The District's official address is 2240 Village Walk Drive, and its own site confirms that shops and restaurants sit on both the east and west sides of Green Valley Parkway. The developer's 2014 account of its renovation placed the first phase on the west side, with REI, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Williams-Sonoma, King's Fish House and P.F. Chang's among the tenants. The current directory still lists those names next to Whole Foods Market, The Cheesecake Factory and North Italia, and Club Champion is marked "Coming Soon."
Today, getting from one half to the other on foot means crossing the parkway at street level. The Review-Journal reports that the new bridge will let pedestrians and cyclists cross between the two sides of The District "without interacting with vehicle traffic below," keep the 215 Beltway Trail continuous, and improve traffic flow for drivers. An earlier Review-Journal report from 2024 said the bridge would also serve people going between The District and the Green Valley Ranch hotel. The resort already calls The District "right next door."
That one structure links three things that now sit apart: two halves of a shopping center, a resort, and a regional trail.
What the bridge has closed while it goes up
For now, the work has made walking around this corner harder. The Henderson 215 project's construction update dated October 15, 2026 lists these restrictions:
- The southbound Green Valley Parkway sidewalk is closed from I-215 to south of Village Walk Drive, and pedestrians are detoured to the northbound side.
- Green Valley Parkway between Corporate Circle and south of Village Walk Drive may drop to one lane at night, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for bridge, signal and NV Energy work.
- The I-215 Trail is under a long-term closure from Valle Verde Drive to St. Rose Parkway, including the trail connection at Dos Escuelas Park, with users detoured to Paseo Verde Parkway.
- A second long-term trail closure runs from Arroyo Grande Boulevard to Stephanie Street for retaining walls and trail realignment, also detoured to Paseo Verde Parkway.
The update gives no reopening date for either trail segment. One change is aimed at people living along the freeway: crews are installing LED light shields on I-215 to cut light spilling onto nearby homes while keeping the roadway safe.
All of this is part of a widening that began in May 2025 and was just shy of 50 percent complete in early October, according to the Review-Journal, which put the cost at $160 million. The project FAQ lists an estimated cost of $145 million, funded locally by Clark County. The plan takes the 215 between Pecos Road and Stephanie Street from three lanes plus an auxiliary lane in each direction to five lanes plus an auxiliary lane, with more turn lanes at Pecos, Green Valley Parkway, Valle Verde Drive and Stephanie.
The spring sequence that comes next
The bridge's arrival sets off a chain of other work at the same intersection. Based on what Remynse told the Review-Journal, the expected order runs like this. Every date is a forecast and could move.
- March 2027. The bridge structure is expected to be delivered.
- March or April 2027. Green Valley Parkway gets full directional overnight closures while crews set the bridge over the road. "We can't safely let vehicular traffic through when they're setting that," Remynse said, adding that the team will give as much notice as possible and try not to land the work on a busy weekend.
- Around April 2027. The bridge is expected to be substantially complete.
- April 2027. Work begins on converting the Green Valley Parkway overpass into a diverging diamond interchange. Expect one lane overnight and two lanes plus turn lanes during the day at times.
- End of 2027. The added 215 lanes are expected to open to traffic.
- 2028. Remynse gave March 2028 for substantial completion. The project FAQ says the second quarter of 2028, and the City of Henderson's current projects page says mid-2028.
The diverging diamond will feel familiar to anyone who drives Horizon Ridge Parkway. Henderson has had one at Horizon Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway over I-11 since 2015, and that design lets drivers turn left onto on-ramps without stopping.
For walkers, the timing works out well. The pedestrian crossing is set to finish just as the interchange work starts, so the bridge should be in place before the busiest stretch of traffic restrictions on the parkway below.
The season before the bridge
That puts this fall and holiday season at The District in the window before the spring closures. Main Street and The Green are the center's named gathering spots, and the official events calendar is full through December.

If you walk in from south of the freeway for the Tree Lighting or a Saturday market, keep the southbound sidewalk closure in mind and plan to use the northbound side of Green Valley Parkway.
A few minutes away, Paseo Verde Parkway is getting its own gathering place. The Cliff, an adaptive reuse project at 2500 and 2550 Paseo Verde Parkway, lists a 2027 delivery on its official site. News 3 Las Vegas reported that expected tenants include Visual Comfort, Our House, The Taco Stand and Wine Girl, with construction continuing over the coming months.
Where to walk while the 215 Trail is detoured
Paseo Verde Parkway is the official detour for both closed trail segments. It also leads to the start of a longer paved option. The City of Henderson describes the Amargosa Trail as a 10-mile, primarily paved route with trailheads at Siena Heights Park, Paseo Verde Park, Reunion Trails Park and Hidden Falls Park. The Paseo Verde/Amargosa Trailhead is at 804 Paseo Verde Parkway.
Closer to the middle of Green Valley, the city's trail map page describes the Pittman Wash Trail as a corridor that follows the wash through neighborhoods to Arroyo Grande Sports Complex. The city's Arroyo Grande Sports Complex & Pittman Wash Trail page gives the complex's address as 298 Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Before heading out on either route, check the city's park and trail closure page, because conditions change over the course of a project this long.
Once the bridge is finished, the 215 Beltway Trail is meant to cross Green Valley Parkway above traffic and run right past both halves of The District. That should happen around April 2027, ahead of the interchange work below.
If you are weighing what the 215 work means for your own Green Valley home, whether you plan to stay through 2028 or are thinking about timing a sale around the spring closures, I'd be glad to walk through it with you. Reach out to Rachelle G Cox and let's connect.
